January 2015 – Time to Get This Van Right (with video)

It’s been ages since I’ve updated this site.

At the beginning of last year I had to get the van to a stage where it could be registered as a Motorhome for insurance purposes. This meant cutting corners. My idea was to get it registered then to go back and redo everything to the standard I wanted it. What happened was we just started using the van. And it’s been great.

Now it’s time to get the van right. Below is a video showing the state of the van today and what I plan on doing to it. It hasn’t been used as a Camper since October as we moved house, so please ignore the mess.

My plan it to publish quite a few video’s and articles over the next few months and totally finish the van to a standard I’m happy with.

  1. Hi there,
Great job on the conversion, I think I may have been speaking to you before on the sbmcc website. I converted a sprinter and think I used the same as yourself for covering the lightweight ply. I used the high quality kitchen vinyl bonded on with trim fix.
I have just looked at your jan 2015 video and you were saying that you had a trick with an iron to fix where you had rushed the vinyl.
Reason I ask is that 2 of my cupboard doors are starting to “bubble” and I would love to be able to fix them without having to pull it all off and redo the vinyl.
I would really appreciate if you could give me a bit of advise on this?

    Many thanks,
